How do I know if this is right for me?
Animal-assisted wellness is something that everyone and anyone can benefit from. It’s a practice that is universal and impactful for all humans as long as they are in a place where they are willing to heal and learn.
Will I get hurt?
Although our horses and dogs are around humans every day and are very friendly, there is always a risk of injury when being around any animal. It is highly unlikely you will experience any sort of injury while working with our animals but the risk factor is always there if we aren’t mindful of their body language and the communication they are trying to make with us.
What does a session look like?
When you arrive on the farm for the first time, we will do a quick rundown of who we are and who you are. We will go over the intake forms and answer any questions you may have. After we’ve done a bit of an introduction, we will go into the field and meet the horses. Our main focus for the first session is to understand how to communicate with the horses and how to understand their personal space. It’s a process that will involve listening to yourself, the animals and being in the present moment.
How many sessions will I need?
This is something that is unique to each individual. We offer programs that are 6 weeks in length because we feel they provide a good chunk of time to do some self-reflection. Although it is recommended to start with a 6-week program, it is not necessary and you can choose to do as many or as little sessions as you’d like.
What happens if I miss a session?
Your appointments are really important to us as they are something so incredibly beneficial to your wellbeing. If a session needs to be canceled or rescheduled, we ask for 24 hours notice prior to the scheduled time to receive the full cost of the session refunded. Without 24 hours notice, you will be responsible for the cost of the session or it will be taken off of any package credits you may have. Always reach out to us if you feel you need to change your appointment, we will do what we can to accommodate your needs.
